This Privacy Policy explains how Brev Notes: Digital Notepad ("Brev", "we", "us", or "our"), developed and maintained by Klaudjo Shkurta, handles information when you use our mobile application.
Brev is built with privacy and simplicity first. We believe your thoughts and notes belong solely to you.
1. Data Collection and Storage
Brev is an offline-first application.
- Local Storage: All of your notes, lists, tags, and archives are stored locally on your device. We do not operate cloud servers to store, sync, or access your core content.
- No Account Required: You are not required to create an account, provide an email address, or log in to use Brev.
- Import/Export: When you use the import or export functionalities, the app accesses your local device storage strictly to read or write the backup files you explicitly request.
2. Financial and Payment Information
- If you choose to upgrade to an optional premium subscription, your transaction is handled entirely by the Google Play Store.
- Brev does not collect, process, intercept, or store your credit card details, banking credentials, or any personal financial information. We only receive a secure, anonymous purchase token from Google to verify that your subscription is active and to unlock the premium features within the app.
3. Permissions We Request
To provide the app's features, Brev requires the following device permissions:
- Microphone Access: This is required strictly for the voice-powered note-taking feature.
- Storage Access: This is required to save your notes to your device and to facilitate the import and export of your backups.
4. Third-Party Services
While Brev does not collect or transmit your personal data to our own servers, the app utilizes your device's native operating system features:
- Speech-to-Text: Brev uses Android's native speech recognition service to transcribe your voice memos. The audio processing is handled by your device and its default speech-to-text provider (e.g., Google). We do not record, intercept, or store the audio files ourselves; we only store the resulting transcribed text locally on your device.
5. Analytics and Tracking
We do not use third-party analytics trackers, crashlytics, or advertising networks within the app. There is no bloatware and no background data harvesting.
6. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the app's features or legal requirements. Any updates will be posted within this document, and the "Effective Date" at the top will be revised.
